Amy Sortino

Founder

Amy is a visionary leader and passionate advocate for criminal justice reform, serving as the Founder and President of Reentry Ready, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering incarcerated individuals to prepare for reentry, even when reentry may not be in the immediate future. She supports men and women in all 23 of Pennsylvania’s correctional facilities giving home and working through successful reintegration. With a focus on fostering second chances, Amy has built a transformative platform that bridges the gap between the incarcerated and the community. Under her leadership, Reentry Ready has implemented innovative programs that address critical areas such as job readiness, emotional resilience, and social reintegration. Amy’s strategic direction has led to measurable outcomes, including enhanced quality of life for program participants. Her work is driven by the belief that everyone deserves an opportunity to rebuild their lives and contribute meaningfully to society. Amy’s career spans over two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, operations, and advocacy. Her expertise includes organizational management, program development, and building community partnerships. She is also deeply committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), ensuring Reentry Ready’s programs serve individuals from all walks of life with dignity and respect. In addition to her work with Reentry Ready, Amy is working toward her certifications in mental health and suicide prevention, including Certified Peer Support Specialist, Mental Health First Aid, and QPR Certified Gatekeeper, equipping her with the tools to address the emotional and psychological needs of those she serves. Amy’s dedication to empowering others and her ability to inspire systemic change make her a respected leader for those impacted by the carceral system. When not leading Reentry Ready, Amy enjoys mentoring emerging leaders, engaging in community service, and sharing her expertise through public speaking engagements.
